Tornado Strikes St. Louis – A Time for Unity

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the recent tornado in St. Louis. In moments like these, the importance of strong, connected neighborhoods is clear. At North of Delmar, we are doubling down on our mission to build resilience through collaboration, support, and a shared sense of purpose.

As summer begins, so does a new chapter in our growth story. From new faces on our team to vibrant neighbourhood initiatives, here’s what’s happening North of Delmar:

Meet Our WashU Interns

Please join us in welcoming Girik Jain and Sree Sathvik, MBA interns from Washington University. This dynamic duo is helping to accelerate our business development, digital strategy, and community engagement work this summer.

Our New Website is Live!

We’re excited to announce the launch of our website: www.northofdelmar.info
The site features our mission, historical photo comparisons, newsletters, and a signup form. Coming soon: a donation portal and community contact form.

Wells Goodfellow Cleanup with YVWA

On June 7, Young Voices With Action (YVWA) hosted a neighbourhood clean-up and community barbecue in Wells Goodfellow. We’re proud to support their incredible efforts and look forward to their next event on Juneteenth (June 19).

Expanding Health Access in Wells Goodfellow

We’re partnering with Covenant House Missouri and IFM Community Medicine to bring healthcare resources to Wells Goodfellow. Covenant House has submitted a Phase One plan to establish a local presence, and IFM may expand their services to the neighbourhood, focusing on primary care and addiction counselling.

Our new Initiatives

We are using data to inform smarter change. Thanks to Elizabeth Carlen, a washU biology post-doc, we have new maps and graphs revealing disparities across neighborhoods like Wells Goodfellow. These insights are helping us target our efforts more effectively.

Art is coming to Wells Goodfellow! In partnership with Craft Alliance and Pierre Laclede Junior Career Academy, we're launching three summer community art events to foster creativity and shape plans for a 2026 neighborhood art fair.

Coming Soon: Community Fundraising

We’re laying the groundwork for a fundraising campaign to support our redevelopment plans, arts programming, and a potential daycare facility. A donation platform through Justine Petersen is on its way. Stay tuned!
