At North of Delmar (NOD), our events and activities are designed to bring together community members, nonprofits, corporations, universities, and philanthropists to create meaningful change in St. Louis neighborhoods. Through collaboration and engagement, we aim to build stronger, healthier, and more self-reliant communities.
Here’s an overview of the types of events and initiatives we host:
We believe the best ideas come directly from the people who live in the neighborhoods we serve. Our community meetings bring residents together to share their priorities, needs, and hopes for the future.
Visioning workshops help shape plans for services, housing, and economic opportunities.
Follow-up sessions refine these ideas into community-backed plans to guide funders and service providers.
As part of our Goodfellow Renewal initiative, we work on revitalizing Wells-Goodfellow, our demonstration neighborhood. Activities include:
Cleaning and greening projects to improve the look and feel of the area.
Housing redevelopment discussions to explore new opportunities for affordable, sustainable living.
Collaborating with experts in housing, healthcare, and transportation to meet local needs.
Partnership is at the heart of NOD’s mission. We regularly host opportunities to connect and collaborate:
Coffee Talk sessions – informal meetups for individuals and organizations to share their work and find common ground.
Leadership meetings with nonprofits and service providers to coordinate efforts and resources.
Practicum presentations with Washington University’s Center for Experiential Learning, showcasing research and community insights.
We support projects that enhance the environment and create accessible outdoor spaces:
Partnering with Great Rivers Greenway on the Brickline Greenway, a 3.5-mile corridor connecting seven neighborhoods with parks, walking paths, and bike trails.
We collaborate with local arts organizations, such as Craft Alliance, to create community-focused events like Trash to Treasure, where creativity transforms discarded items into something beautiful and useful.
We highlight and support impactful efforts like Bridge of Hope’s Medical Respite Program, which provides short-term housing and medical care for individuals experiencing homelessness.
Through partnerships with universities like Washington University, we conduct research to measure community vitality and the effectiveness of programs, ensuring data-driven decision-making for long-term success.
Our collaboration will officially launch in 2025, with more partners, services, and events coming to Wells-Goodfellow and other neighborhoods North of Delmar.
