Welcome to North Of Delmar
North of Delmar is a community-driven collaboration, not a traditional NGO with its own fundraising or programs. The core aim is to bring together existing nonprofits, institutions, and local leaders to work cooperatively to uplift under-resourced neighborhoods in North St. Louis.
We act as a catalyst helping partners coordinate efforts, share resources, and drive meaningful impact.
Through strategic alliances, community-led projects, and data-driven approaches, NOD is creating pathways for vibrant, self-reliant communities. Our first demonstration project in Wells Goodfellow showcases how collaboration can transform neighborhoods, improving housing, health, transportation, arts, and education.
With the support of local residents, partners, and funders, NOD is working toward a brighter, more inclusive future for North St. Louis.
Together, we’re proving that meaningful change happens when communities unite.
North of Delmar: Six Areas of Impact
We believe in building stronger communities through a holistic approach. Our work focuses on six key areas that shape the future of neighborhoods North of Delmar.
Access to quality healthcare is vital for a healthy community. We collaborate with healthcare providers and organizations to expand medical services, promote mental health awareness, and support wellness programs. Our goal is to ensure that all residents have the resources they need to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
Stable and affordable housing forms the foundation of strong neighborhoods. We work on initiatives that promote safe living environments, rehabilitate existing homes, and develop affordable housing options. By addressing housing challenges, we aim to provide families with the security and dignity they deserve.
Efficient transportation and modern infrastructure connect residents to education, employment, and services. We advocate for improved transit systems, road safety, and the integration of smart technologies that make communities more accessible, sustainable, and resilient in the face of future challenges.
The arts and recreational spaces foster creativity, community pride, and well-being. We support public art projects, cultural festivals, parks, and beautification efforts that transform neighborhoods into vibrant places where people want to live, work, and gather.
Education and skills development empower individuals and strengthen economies. We focus on enhancing educational programs, providing vocational training, and creating pathways to employment, especially for youth and underserved populations, helping residents build fulfilling careers and stable futures.
A thriving local economy depends on strong workforce development and business support. We facilitate job training programs, entrepreneurship initiatives, and small business resources to stimulate economic growth, create sustainable jobs, and encourage community self-sufficiency.
Wells Goodfellow Neighbourhood
Our Flagship Project
The Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood is being selected as the lead Project to show how collaboration is being used to transform a community into a vibrant, self-reliant place to live.
Through Goodfellow Renewal, initial cleaning and beautification efforts are being completed, making the area greener and more welcoming. Further possibilities are being explored for what can be achieved with greater financial resources, professional expertise, and strong community input in areas such as housing, healthcare, and transportation.
Residents are being met with to gather their priorities, and a shared vision for Wells Goodfellow’s future is being created. Based on their input, an illustrative draft plan for a revitalized neighborhood is being developed and refined collaboratively.
This community backed vision is being used to secure funding, engage service providers, and build the partnerships needed to bring lasting change.
Key Milestones
A free weekly health clinic at Pierre Laclede Junior Career Academy will provide essential care to students and families, improving health and reducing barriers in Wells-Goodfellow.
In partnership with IFM Community Medicine, a weekly onsite health clinic will launch at Pierre Laclede Junior Career Academy in Wells-Goodfellow for the 2025-26 school year.
The clinic will provide free primary care, including sick/well visits, immunizations, physicals, chronic disease management, and referrals, helping students and families overcome barriers like cost, access, and transportation.
In its first year, the clinic will serve the school’s 300 students and their families, reducing absenteeism, improving academic performance, and strengthening overall community health. In future years, it will expand to serve the wider neighborhood.
The program aims to reduce health disparities and build long-term health equity in this underserved community. $30,000 is being raised to support the clinic’s inaugural year.

Transforming Trash
The organization’s heart beats strongest when it’s out in the community—shoulder to shoulder with the people it serves. One such moment comes alive during Trash to Treasure, a community-centered event where what’s discarded is given new life. Whether it's picking up litter, repurposing old materials, or simply sharing stories, the NGO participates not just as an organizer, but as a committed neighbor. Through these efforts, they help turn everyday actions into powerful symbols of transformation and shared responsibility.

NOD cultivates local gardens with residents to bring beauty and community together
Promoting Urban Gardens
Amid the bustling streets and busy lives of the community, North of Delmar saw an opportunity to nurture something simple yet powerful: local gardens. Believing that green spaces bring more than just beauty, they began working alongside residents, volunteers, and neighborhood groups to promote and cultivate these gardens.
Each plot of land transformed into a garden became a symbol of growth, hope, and togetherness, a place where neighbors could connect, share stories, and harvest fresh food. Through their efforts, North of Delmar helped plant the seeds not just for gardens, but for a stronger, healthier community rooted in care and collaboration.
